Amsterdam Fashion Week Jan’ 2017

The Mercedes Benz Amsterdam Fashion Week took place in January 2017. For four days I rushed from catwalk to catwalk, trying to get the best insights on the latest fashion trends and new up and coming designers.

Every show I visited had a unique and outstanding feature to it. Whether it was vaseline on the models faces, spiked hair or surreal masks – each one of them had a distinct look and attitude. As a portrait photographer I sometimes got distracted from the fashion by the unique attitude and walk of the different models. This resulted in some of the shots being more about the person wearing the clothes than the fashion designs they were presenting.

In addition to the models appearance some shows like Das Leben am Haverkamp had an artistic and theatric performance to go with their catwalk show. This included performers on the catwalk itself as well as up in the air.

It took me a while to choose from all the shows and images, but I am finally ready to present to you my favorite shows, fashion moments and designs of Amsterdam Fashion Week.
